Kids Run For Fun

Following many requests from parents and schools alike Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run have added a new event for 2013 especially for the younger audience.

This is a not for profit event organised by Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run in conjunction with Limerick City and County Sports Partnerships and the HSE.

Three events, namely a 4k Run/Jog for 8-12 yrs and 1 km Jog/Walk for 4-7 yrs will take place on the grounds of the University of Limerick and a 1 km event for children in wheelchairs will take place on the track. All participants will receive a finisher's medal and race t-shirt.

One third of all race proceeds generated will be used for physical activity programmes for Limerick primary schools.

Well Done To All In Kids Run For Fun!!

Well done to everyone who took part in the Great Limerick Run - Kids Run For Fun on Saturday May 4th!! Each event was a huge success and saw 1,422 kids from the age of 4 to 12 sprinting, walking and jogging around the University of Limerick campus, creating an atmosphere of fun and excitement in the much welcomed sunshine!! Each participant received a Great Limerick Run medal, Kids Run for Fun t-shirt and goodie bag for their fantastic work....

Herbertstown National School Run for Fun Training!

Well done to the Herbertstown National School for taking part in the training for the Great Limerick Run - Kids Run for Fun during their school's Physical Activity Week. All of the pupils involved worked their hardest in a variety of fun activities and are looking forward to taking part in the Kids Run for Fun in the University of Limerick on May 4th!!

Time & Date
The kids run for fun will take place on Saturday 3rd at 2pm.
What are the race distances
There will be a 4k jog/run for 8-12yrs on campus, a 1km walk/jog for 4-7yrs on mixed grass/road/track and 1 km event for children in wheelchairs will take place on the track.
Are the races permitted by the AAI
Yes
How much is the race entry fee
The cost per child is €10 and that includes the provision of a race t-shirt, medal, and water.
When can I register
On line registration will start in January 2014
Will there be advice or training programmes provided
Training programmes will be made availble and posted on the website to support all children and their families. Support will also be available through participating primary schools.
